Guetta then played Rexha a remix of a song by Italian group Eiffel 65, and they started having fun with it, without any expectation of it turning into a finished song. As she explained, it all started with an unplanned message on social media, while Guetta was working on a recording and writing session in London. The song reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the US Dance/Electronic Songs, Dance/Mix Show Airplay and Mainstream Top 40 charts. "I'm Good (Blue)" garnered international success by attaining the number one position on rankings in 20 countries and securing a top 10 position in over 15 additional territories. The song was met with a warm reception from music critics for its lyrics, sound and collaboration between Guetta and Rexha. Featuring an interpolation of Eiffel 65's single " Blue (Da Ba Dee)" (1998), it is an upbeat club, dance and electronic song that channels Rexha's excitement for a long clubbing night and the potential of an unforgettable night. Despite working on the song in 2017 with no intention to release it, the artists were prompted to complete the song in 2022, after a snippet of it gained extensive popularity on social media. The song is included on Rexha's third studio album, Bebe (2023). ![]() OmniFocus's Mac and iOS apps-along with integrations and email support-let you quickly add tasks from anywhere. That's what makes an app handy-especially one like OmniFocus that's designed around GTD. What you do need is a quick way to capture ideas and tasks whenever you think of them, along with tools to organize those tasks and review them regularly. It could work just as well with a paper notebook or the Reminders app that came with your computer or phone. You can take it further-there's a full book on GTD, after all-but those basic steps will help you quit forgetting tasks and start getting more done. You'll write tasks down, organize and review them, then actually complete tasks instead of spending all your time trying to remember them. Reflect on your work, reviewing your projects to make sure the tasks are still relevant and to make sure you didn't forget anything. Organize your tasks, pulling similar tasks together to complete at once or grouping project tasks into a workflow so you do each step in order. Decide if they're really important-and if so, what action needs to be taken to complete them. For that, GTD is a 5-step process:Ĭapture everything that needs to be done by writing down your tasks, ideas, projects, and more.Ĭlarify your ideas. You'll then need a system to come back and revisit those tasks-and actually get those things done. Instead of remembering everything that needs to be done, write each task and idea down to clear out your mind. "Your mind is for having ideas, not holding them," says author David Allen in his book Getting Things Done. That's the core problem the Getting Things Done or GTD methodology tries to solve. When you're trying to remember the things you need to do, the ideas you just came up with, your long-term goals, and the stuff you need to pick up at the store this evening, odds are you'll forget something. Your brain can only remember so many things at once. It's easy to forget things we need to do-too easy, in fact. Your mind is for having ideas, not holding them. ![]() There are a lot of components that go into making the Digital Dividends sessions accessible, says Program Manager Teresa Yao. “No matter who reaches old age at what time, what you consider to be old age, people are always going to need support.” “The important concept we try to get across is that people are always aging and technology's always progressing,” James Fuccione, the executive director at the Massachusetts Healthy Aging Collaborative, said in a Zoom interview. “It's extremely important because through computers you can send information to your family, your friends, your neighbors,” she said. We make an incision in the top of the foot and place screws or plates to hold the joint complex in proper anatomical position so the bone and ligaments can heal. If there is any instability in the midfoot area – even 1-2 millimeters – the injury will likely require surgery to realign the bones. After eight weeks, we’ll X-ray the foot again and if the bones have not shifted, the patient will move to physical therapy and moderate weight-bearing exercises. Lisfranc injuries vary in severity, from strains, which can be treated by immobilizing the foot and keeping weight off it, to tears, fractures, or dislocations that require surgery to insert a screw or plate and restore stability to the foot.įor a mild strain, the patient will likely be asked to wear a boot for 6-8 weeks and use crutches to keep weight off the injured foot – allowing the ligaments time to heal. Today, military personnel continue to face the prospect of Lisfranc injuries (albeit not from falling off horseback), as do runners, windsurfers, and mountain bikers who ride over rugged terrain with their feet strapped to the pedals. Martin first identified the condition when cavalrymen in Napoleon’s army would get thrown from their horses but one of their feet would get caught and twisted in the stirrups. They can be caused by a high-energy trauma, such as a car accident or a heavy object falling on the foot, or even a missed step on the stairs. Of course, Lisfranc injuries don’t only affect athletes. In basketball and soccer, when the front portion of a player’s foot is extended and another player steps on the heel, a twist to escape could lead to Lisfranc ligament damage. Similarly, if a running back gets a cleat stuck in the ground, the twisting motion can cause a Lisfranc dislocation or tear. Offensive lineman, for example, are at risk for Lisfranc injuries because their feet are planted and their heels are off the ground while they block, making them susceptible to strains or tears as defensive players exert force on them. In sports like football and basketball, Lisfranc injuries usually occur when a player’s foot is flexed forward, gets stuck or stepped on, and twists in an unnatural position. The foot has a lot of moving parts, and many of them come together in the Lisfranc joint complex, where bones, tendons, and ligaments provide much-needed arch support, flexibility, and stability. Although Lisfranc injuries are significant and painful, with proper care and physical therapy our team can help get you back on your feet and playing the sport you love. Lisfranc injuries are rare, affecting about 1 in 55,000 people in the U.S. Named for the surgeon in Napoleon’s army who discovered the condition among many of its cavalry soldiers, Lisfranc injuries are usually caused by a severe twisting of the foot that creates a fracture, dislocation, or ligament strain/tear in the midfoot – the area where the bridges of your toes connect to the rest of your foot. Lisfranc injuries have sidelined several pro athletes for the 2022-2023 season, including Dallas Cowboys cornerback Jourdan Lewis and Carolina Panthers rookie quarterback Matt Corral in the NFL, and Oklahoma City Thunder center Chet Holmgren, who was the No. Recently, a less-well-known foot injury has joined the debilitating duo: Achilles tendon ruptures or tears, which involve the largest tendon in the body that connects the heel bone to the calf muscle at the back of the ankle, often requiring surgery and about a year to rehab and recover.Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears, which affect the stability of the knee joint, usually requiring reconstructive surgery and about six months of rehab. ![]() In the world of high-impact sports, two injuries have become inexorably linked with the dreaded term “season-ending surgery:” ![]() "Doubtless, your excellency will pardon a young man for speaking with diffidence on a subject, to recollect which is to cause pain."Ī Friend of Caesar A Tale of the Fall of the Roman Republic.
